New members of Police Service Commission sworn in

The five new­ly ap­point­ed mem­bers of the Po­lice Ser­vice Com­mis­sion (PolSC) re­ceived their in­stru­ments of ap­point­ment to­day.

Chair­man Dr Wen­dell Wal­lace, along with An­ni­ka Fritz-Browne, Ethel Hec­tor-Berke­ley, Ian Ramd­hanie and Roger Ba­booram were all sworn in at the Pres­i­dent's House this morn­ing (No­vem­ber 22, 2024).

The PolSC was ap­proved by the Par­lia­ment on Mon­day.

De­spite re­ceiv­ing crit­i­cism from the Op­po­si­tion over his nom­i­na­tion, Dr Wal­lace said he was grate­ful for the op­por­tu­ni­ty to serve.

He in­di­cat­ed the new Com­mis­sion will move for­ward with the ap­point­ment of a new Com­mis­sion­er of Po­lice.

He al­so said they will be seek­ing to en­sure that there is a suit­able rubric in place to ap­point­ment Com­mis­sion­ers and Deputy Com­mis­sion­ers go­ing for­ward.
