The Ministry of Public Utilities formally appointed the new Board of Directors for the National Maintenance Training and Security Company Limited (MTS) on Monday, 9 June 2025, at a ceremony held at the ministry’s head office in St.Clair, Port-of-Spain.
At the helm is newly appointed Chairman Adrian Barran, described in the release as “a seasoned leader in health, safety, security, and environment (HSSE), with over 17 years of experience across the oil and gas, petrochemical, aviation, health, and regulatory sectors.” Barran has served in senior capacity as Head of Crisis Management & Emergency Response at the National Gas Company (NGC), bringing considerable HSSE credentials to the role.

In his remarks, Minister of Public Utilities Barry Padarath thanked the appointees “for their willingness to serve the people of Trinidad and Tobago,” urging them to carry out their mandate “with the highest level of professionalism.” He emphasized that MTS occupies a “critical role” in maintaining and securing public buildings, underscoring that “the renovation and construction of schools nationwide is a key component of the company’s mandate.”
Also in attendance were Minister in the Ministry of Public Utilities, Clyde Elder, and Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Public Utilities, Shivanna Sam.
