NGC Green marked World Children’s Day 2024 by donating 350 reusable sanitary napkins to children’s homes and care organizations across T&T.
The beneficiaries included the Children’s Authority, Raffa House in D’Abadie, Chickland Children’s Home in Freeport, and Haven of Hope in Woodland.
At the handover ceremony, Anna-Alisa Goindoo, Sales & Marketing Manager at NGC Green, joined forces with Denise Belcon Pollard, founder of EcoMe Lifestyle and creator of the EcoFlow reusable sanitary pads. Their partnership champions not just improved health and well-being for those in need, but also highlights the importance of sustainable consumption, tying directly into Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3, which promotes good health and well-being, and SDG 12, focused on sustainable consumption and production patterns.
EcoFlow pads are a revolutionary alternative to disposable sanitary products. “Each pad is crafted with 4-5 essential layers of fabric,” shared Denise Belcon Pollard. “The top layer, in contact with the skin, is either polyester for its moisture-wicking properties or cotton for comfort and sensitivity. The absorbent core is made of Zorb, a material infused with silver ions for antibacterial protection and
capable of holding ten times more moisture than disposable pads. A final layer of polyurethane laminate (PUL) ensures garments remain protected from leaks, all while being breathable and lightweight.” These pads are not only functional but also designed with a touch of personality, featuring patterned fabrics that bring a sense of individuality and fun to the product.
