Nine Vindra Naipaul-Coolman murder accused to receive $20M from State

Ten men who were made to stand on tri­al for the 2006 mur­der of busi­ness woman Vin­dra Naipaul Cool­man are set to re­ceive a to­tal of 20 mil­lion dol­lars in com­pen­sa­tion from the State.

The mon­ey was award­ed for ma­li­cious pros­e­cu­tion af­ter a de­fault judge­ment was hand­ed down to­day.

It comes sev­en years af­ter the nine of them were ac­quit­ted of the charges.

The 52 year old for­mer chief ex­ec­u­tive of su­per­mar­ket chain Xtra Foods was kid­napped from her home at Radix Road, Lange Park, Ch­agua­nas on De­cem­ber 19, 2006.

Her kid­nap­pers de­mand­ed a $3 mil­lion ran­som for her re­lease but to date her body has nev­er been found.
