Min­is­ter of Works and Trans­port Ro­han Sinanan said mo­torists tra­vers­ing ar­eas where the Curepe In­ter­change is be­ing con­struct­ed should not ex­pe­ri­ence any is­sues with re­gards to the traf­fic changes which take ef­fect to­day.

On Fri­day it was an­nounced that a new traf­fic flow of the South­ern Main Road in the vicin­i­ty of the Curepe In­ter­sec­tion will take ef­fect.

But up to yes­ter­day, there seemed to be a lot of work still to be done.

When Guardian Me­dia con­tact­ed Min­is­ter Sinanan he said that “every­thing was in place” for the new traf­fic flow.

He said he vis­it­ed the site late Sun­day evening and the fin­ish­ing touch­es were be­ing put in place. He added he ex­pect­ed there would be “no hic­cups and smooth sail­ing for mo­torists”.

It was an­nounced that fil­ter lanes would be placed in the area and Ramp G, which is lo­cat­ed to the south­ern side of the South­ern Main Road (near to where Kay Don­na Dri­ve-In used to be) would be made ac­ces­si­ble to mo­torists.

New traf­fic sig­nals are to re­place the ex­ist­ing ones at the in­ter­sec­tion and will be placed 100 me­tres or so near to the en­trance to ramps G and D (lo­cat­ed on the north­ern side of the South­ern Main Road).
