FOR A THIRD STRAIGHT WEEK, there were no new COVID-19 deaths reported in Tobago, with the island’s death toll from the disease remaining at 286, as at Saturday, November 5.
That’s according to the latest weekly update from the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), covering the period Sunday 30 October to Saturday 5 November 2022.
The most recently recorded COVID-19-related death was that of an unvaccinated person during the week of October 9 to 15, 2022.
In addition, the THA Health Division report notes eight more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Tobago, last week. The number of active infections, as at Saturday, November 5, was 42. This represents a significant drop from the previous week (October 23-29, 2022), at which time there were 58 active cases.
The Health Division reports that only one patient—an unvaccinated person—remained hospitalised for COVID-19, as of November 5.
The Tobago COVID-19 update also reports that patients continue to survive the disease as 24 people were certified as recovered from COVID-19 during the period October 30 to November 5, 2022.
A total of 10,922 in Tobago have recovered from COVID-19 since March 2020—up from 10,898 the previous week.
