A police officer who accompanied her son to sell a hoodie in Laventille was able to scare off two bandits who tried to rob them on Wednesday morning.
Police said the 20-year-old man and his mother received an order for a True Religion hoodie for a customer in Laventille.
On reaching the Eastern Main Road, near a business place, both mother and son were approached by two bandits, one of whom placed his hand in her son's pocket and ordered him to stay quiet.
At the same time, the woman pulled out her licensed pistol as both bandits ran away.
Hours later on Monday afternoon, went to Rigault Street off the Eastern Main Road, Laventille, to sell a PlayStation 5 gaming console to someone he met via Facebook marketplace.
On reaching the area, a bandit snatched the game console and ran away.
The victim chased the bandit and eventually caught up to him when they struggled over the item.
During the fight, $3000 cash which was in the victim's pocket fell out onto the street, as the bandit grabbed it and ran away.
Besson Street Police are investigating both incidents.
