A 34-year-old po­lice of­fi­cer at­tached to the Arou­ca Po­lice Sta­tion was ar­rest­ed af­ter a stolen bul­let­proof vest was re­cov­ered dur­ing a search at his San­gre Grande home on Fri­day.

Po­lice said the search, led of­fi­cers of the North East­ern Di­vi­sion Gang Unit, was part of an in­ves­ti­ga­tion in­to re­ports of lock­ers be­ing bro­ken in­to at a po­lice sta­tion and of­fi­cial items from kits miss­ing.

One TTPS-is­sued bul­let­proof vest, re­port­ed stolen from an of­fi­cer at­tached to the Guard and Emer­gency Branch, was re­cov­ered and con­fis­cat­ed.
