A shoot­ing in Ch­agua­nas on Fri­day night left one man dead and an­oth­er wound­ed.

Po­lice said 39-year-old Andy Gor­mandy was dri­ving his dark grey Hyundai Tuc­son along En­ter­prise Street, near the En­ter­prise Hin­du Pri­ma­ry School, at around 10:30 pm, when a gold Nis­san Almera trav­el­ling ahead stopped and blocked his path.

Two masked gun­men got out of the car and shot Gor­mandy and his 32-year-old pas­sen­ger be­fore get­ting back in and dri­ving off.

The wound­ed man ran to a near­by bar for help. Pa­trons there took him to a health fa­cil­i­ty for treat­ment.

Of­fi­cers of the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion Task Force North re­spond­ed with a dis­trict med­ical of­fi­cer, who de­clared Gor­mandy dead at the scene.

Of­fi­cers of the Spe­cial Ev­i­dence Re­cov­ery Unit (SERU) found 19 spent 9-mil­lime­tre shells at the scene.
