A shooting in Chaguanas on Friday night left one man dead and another wounded.
Police said 39-year-old Andy Gormandy was driving his dark grey Hyundai Tucson along Enterprise Street, near the Enterprise Hindu Primary School, at around 10:30 pm, when a gold Nissan Almera travelling ahead stopped and blocked his path.
Two masked gunmen got out of the car and shot Gormandy and his 32-year-old passenger before getting back in and driving off.
The wounded man ran to a nearby bar for help. Patrons there took him to a health facility for treatment.
Officers of the Central Division Task Force North responded with a district medical officer, who declared Gormandy dead at the scene.
Officers of the Special Evidence Recovery Unit (SERU) found 19 spent 9-millimetre shells at the scene.
Region III Homicide detectives are continuing enquiries.
