A late night lime ended with the death of a 28-year-old man and the wounding of two others on Tuesday.
Police said Kelvin Alvin Nandram and two other men were buying food at Off the Avenue, on Carlos Street, at around 11.15 pm when they heard gunshots.
Nandram, who was shot, got into his white Toyota Fielder Wagon and drove off but stopped nearby on Carlos Street. The two other men, both aged 22, were also shot in the attack and ran to the back of the compound, where they remained.
Officers of the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) visited the scene and took Nandram and the two wounded men to hospital where Nandram was declared dead. The wounded men underwent emergency surgery up to early Wednesday morning.
St Clair police and officers of the Special Evidence Recovery Unit (SERU) visited the scene and found several spent shells and a gun. Police from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region I are continuing enquiries.
