One man was arrested and three firearms were seized during State of Emergency operations conducted overnight in the Northern and North Eastern Divisions.
According to the police, officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force carried out an operation between 7 pm on Thursday 27 November 2025 and 5 am on Friday 28 November 2025. During the exercise, officers searched a Nissan Sentra motor vehicle in the Grand Bazaar district.
Police said the search led to the discovery of two black firearms and eight rounds of ammunition. A 31-year-old driver of Petit Valley was arrested in connection with the finds. The exercise was led by ACP Collis Hazel, Snr. Supt. Ramnarine, Supt. Ramsook and ASP Singh.
In a separate operation, officers conducted an exercise in the Maloney district between 6 pm and 9 pm on Thursday 27 November 2025. The exercise was led by Supt. Mc Kenzie.
Police said officers proceeded to Jacana Avenue, where they searched a car park and found one firearm loaded with a magazine containing two rounds of ammunition.
The exercise involved Sgt (Ag.) Forgenie, W/Cpl (Ag.) Simon, PCs Carter, Fisher, Gopaul, Villaroel, Willet and Yallery, and WPCs Sween and Diamond.
