The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has confirmed that one person remains in custody as investigations continue into the attempted disposal of bodies at the Cumuto Cemetery last weekend.
No charges have yet been laid, as enquiries remain ongoing.
Yesterday’s update follows the execution of several search warrants by investigators at multiple locations.
According to the TTPS, a number of persons of interest have been identified, and arrangements are being made to conduct further interviews with them. Investigators said the list includes representatives of the Sangre Grande Regional Corporation.
The development comes as police continue work across several sites linked to the probe.
The TTPS is urging anyone with information relevant to the investigation to come forward.
Last Saturday, police launched an urgent investigation after the discovery of multiple human remains at the Cumuto Cemetery.
Officers from the Cumuto Police Station responded to information received and secured the area, while crime scene investigators carried out a detailed forensic examination.
