One man was killed and four others injured when gunmen opened fire on a group of men playing a game of cards at a house at Orange Field Road, Carapichaima, on Sunday night.
Police identified the victim as Ken Castillo, 44, of Mungal Trace, Orange Field Road.
Those injured were a 36-year-old from Orange Field Road, a 28-year-old from Mungal Trace, a 27-year-old from Primrose Drive and another man from Lyons Drive.
Police said at 10.10 pm, the men were engaged in a game of cards at the back of a house when gunmen ran in and opened fire on them.
Castillo was killed on the spot.
The injured men were taken to the Chaguanas Health Facility by relatives and neighbours for medical attention.
Police are yet to determine a motive.
Last week, a mass shooting in Cocorite left one man dead and two others injured. It came days after a similar incident occurred in Gonzales, Belmont, that left four dead and eight injured.
In May, a mass shooting in Cocorite resulted in four men being killed and eight people wounded.
