An unvaccinated person is the latest individual to lose their life to COVID-19 in Tobago. Their death has brought the death toll for COVID-19 on the island to 272 lives lost.
That’s according to the latest update from the Division of Health, Wellness and Social Protection, in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), dated Saturday 2 July 2022.
Before yesterday, the most recent death had been reported just under a week ago, on Tuesday 28 June 2022, with a fully vaccinated person identified as the deceased on that date.
In addition, the THA Health Division report notes three more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Tobago over the past 24 hours. The number of current active infections now stands at 111.
The report also shows that while people in Tobago continue to be infected with COVID-19, many previously infected people are recovering from the disease, as four more people were certified as recovered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.
At present, the total number of people in Tobago who have recovered from COVID-19 since March 2020 now stands at 9,665.
The Tobago COVID-19 update for 2 July 2022 also says that currently, 11 people are hospitalised with COVID-19. Four of these patients have not been vaccinated at all against the disease, while the other seven patients have been fully vaccinated.
