Op­po­si­tion Leader Pen­ne­lope Beck­les to­day ex­tend­ed well wish­es to for­mer Prime Min­is­ter Stu­art Young fol­low­ing an eye pro­ce­dure.

In a mes­sage to mem­bers of the Peo­ple’s Na­tion­al Move­ment and the na­tion­al com­mu­ni­ty, Beck­les said she looked for­ward to his re­turn to par­lia­men­tary and par­ty du­ties.

She added that once Young re­cov­ered, the par­ty would re­sume its pub­lic meet­ing, In De­fence of the Peo­ple, in the Port of Spain North/St Ann’s West con­stituen­cy.

“Get well soon, Stu­art! Our par­ty has a coun­try to save!” Beck­les said.

Young al­so shared an up­date on so­cial me­dia this morn­ing, thank­ing his med­ical team. “Thank you to Dr Shiv Ramdeen and his great staff for the pro­fes­sion­al­ism, care and won­der­ful treat­ment. On­to re­cov­ery now … @shiv­anan­dramdeen @pre­ci­sion­cataract­surgerytt,” he wrote.
