Political Leader of the Patriotic Front, Mickela Panday, is calling on political opponents who are bullying her candidates to direct their aggression at her instead.

Speaking at a political meeting at Twin Walls, San Fernando, last evening, Panday told supporters that although there have been reports of bullying, none of the attacks have been aimed at her.

Earlier this month, Panday revealed that threats had forced four Patriotic Front candidates to withdraw from the election race.

She was speaking in defence of the party’s Oropouche East candidate, Danny Jadoonanan, who she said is the latest victim of political intimidation.

“The Patriotic Front is experiencing real bullying because no one is funding me,” Panday said. “And you’re looking at a party that is trying to help others, and you’re cussing us and abusing us.”

Panday added that the Patriotic Front is contesting 37 seats and is working to fix what she described as the damage caused by both the PNM and UNC over the years. “Our party is getting abused for trying to mend what they have broken,” she said.
