Parents can now access SEA results online

The Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion has launched a Sec­ondary En­trance As­sess­ment (SEA) on­line por­tal. The Por­tal will al­low par­ents and guardians to ac­cess their child’s SEA re­sult via their lap­top or any mo­bile de­vice. 

The fol­low­ing is a press re­lease from the MOE: 

The Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion (MoE) launched its Sec­ondary En­trance As­sess­ment (SEA) On­line Por­tal on Thurs­day June 23, 2022 at the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion Head Of­fice, #5 St. Vin­cent Street, Port of Spain. The Min­istry con­tin­ues to ag­gres­sive­ly pur­sue its man­date of trans­for­ma­tion in the ed­u­ca­tion sys­tem, with dig­i­ti­za­tion and dig­i­tal­iza­tion be­ing key hall­marks of this project. 
 
The suite of projects and ini­tia­tives un­der the MOE Dig­i­tal Trans­for­ma­tion pro­gramme seek to pro­vide im­proved sys­tems, cus­tomer fo­cused e-ser­vices and more ef­fi­cient op­er­a­tions through stu­dent and teacher-fo­cused so­lu­tions. The SEA On­line Por­tal will al­low par­ents and guardians to ac­cess their child’s SEA re­sult via their lap­top or any mo­bile de­vice. 
 
While de­liv­er­ing an ad­dress at the event, Min­is­ter Gads­by-Dol­ly linked the launch of the SEA On­line Por­tal to the Gov­ern­ment’s dig­i­ti­za­tion man­date. The Min­is­ter said, “The COVID-19 ex­pe­ri­ence has em­pa­sized the ur­gency of a re­silient ed­u­ca­tion sys­tem, re­quir­ing in­no­va­tion, au­toma­tion, dig­i­ti­za­tion and dig­i­tal­iza­tion. 
 
This ini­tia­tive is one of many on the Gov­ern­ment of the Re­pub­lic of Trinidad and To­ba­go’s (GoRTT’s) dig­i­tal trans­for­ma­tion agen­da.” Al­so speak­ing at the launch were Per­ma­nent Sec­re­tary Lenor Bap­tiste-Sim­mons; Chief Ed­u­ca­tion Of­fi­cer, Dr. Pe­ter Smith; Di­rec­tor of In­for­ma­tion & Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Tech­nol­o­gy, Cory Bel­fon and Di­rec­tor of the Di­vi­sion of Ed­u­ca­tion­al Re­search and Eval­u­a­tion, Mervyn Sam­bucha­ran. 
For this cur­rent aca­d­e­m­ic year, both web-based and pa­per-based re­sults will be avail­able, and the pa­per-based re­sult slips must be col­lect­ed for stu­dent place­ment in the sec­ondary school sys­tem. It is ex­pect­ed how­ev­er, that by 2023, pa­per-based re­sults will be com­plete­ly phased out.  
 
Dur­ing the pe­ri­od May 25 to June 7, 2022, the ICT team at the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion con­duct­ed sev­er­al be­ta test­ing ses­sions on the sys­tem for var­i­ous user groups. Among the stake­hold­ers con­tribut­ing to this ex­er­cise were prin­ci­pals, School Su­per­vi­sors and rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the Trinidad and To­ba­go Uni­fied Teach­ers As­so­ci­a­tion (TTUTA), Na­tion­al Par­ent Teach­ers As­so­ci­a­tion (NPTA), Home School As­so­ci­a­tion of Trinidad and To­ba­go (HATT), Pri­vate Pri­ma­ry Schools As­so­ci­a­tion and the Di­vi­sion of Ed­u­ca­tion, Re­search and Tech­nol­o­gy, To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA).
