Many of Adidja “Vybz Kartel” Palmer fans were sorely disappointed yesterday when the dancehall star failed to take the stage, so instead one woman took it upon herself to take the stage.

One social media video showed that while the stage was being cleared, the woman dressed in a white romper and a red cloth over her head began throwing speakers and other equipment off the stage. Shortly after, what appeared to be stage security tried to apprehend the woman, who then dropped to the ground. Several attendees began throwing cups and other items at the stage, while the woman continued her parade on the stage.

As the show came to an end, the Guard and Emergency Branch in riot gear was called into the venue, due to the objects being hurled onto the stage by angry and disappointed attendees. Several of the members of the Guard and Emergency Branch, were seen hitting an attendee dressed in red with their batons.

Another video showed what seemed to be an attendee of the concert in one of the bar areas, smashing bottles of drinks on the ground.

The star's absence was attributed to the promoter’s alleged failure to pay his full US$1.35 million performance fee, although they insisted that US$950,000 had been delivered.

Several social media videos circulating show the Queen’s Park Savannah almost empty of supporters, promoters and even performers. Performers such as Kalonji and Moliy pulled out of the shows line-up after Kartel pulled out.

As more information comes to light, this story will be updated.
