A man, who po­lice have on­ly iden­ti­fied as “Pap­py”Ab­dool, of Swan Quar­ry Road, Va­len­cia, died on the spot af­ter be­ing hit by a car trav­el­ling along the Va­len­cia stretch yes­ter­day.

The vic­tim’s neigh­bour, Shyam Rocky Mo­hammed, told Guardian Me­dia that around 4.50 am, Pap­py and him­self were stand­ing at the cor­ner of Swan Quar­ry Road, Va­len­cia, wait­ing to cross the road.

While cross­ing, a white ve­hi­cle head­ing west struck Pap­py, throw­ing him in­to the air. He died on im­pact.

Mo­hammed said Pap­py was go­ing to pray at the Ari­ma Mosque.

Neigh­bours said Pap­py ar­rived in Va­len­cia to live re­cent­ly and re­paired fridges and wash­ing ma­chines. One man said he was orig­i­nal­ly from En­ter­prise, Ch­agua­nas. He al­so said his daugh­ter lost her life in a mo­tor ac­ci­dent.

A fe­male dri­ver is as­sist­ing the po­lice with their in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
