Opposition Leader Pennelope Beckles has begun fulfilling a pledge made during the People’s National Movement’s (PNM) convention in June to host regular public days aimed at reconnecting with citizens.
On Monday, Beckles held her first public meeting at the PNM’s headquarters, Balisier House, where she met with 17 people, Guardian Media understands.
It followed her inaugural public day last week at the Office of the Opposition Leader on Charles Street, Port-of-Spain.
In a statement on its official Facebook page, the PNM said the initiative “underscores her commitment to being on the ground, listening to citizens, and fostering meaningful relationships with the people of Trinidad and Tobago.”
The party also encouraged members of the public to book appointments through the Balisier House Secretariat.
Beckles, who was installed as political leader on June 29, had promised at the convention to stage public days not only in Port-of-Spain but also in Tobago and San Fernando.
