Nazim Mohammed, aka ‘Pest’ has been charged with gun and ammunition possession. Mohammed was fined $7,500 dollars when he pleaded guilty to the charge. The following is a press release from the TTPS:
Nazim Mohammed, aka “Pest”, 44, of Rajpaul Avenue, Legendre Road, Ecclesville, Rio Claro, pleaded guilty to the charge of possession of a firearm and ammunition and was fined $7,500 or in default one year with hard labour for each offence.
He appeared virtually before Magistrate Taramatie Ramdass at the Rio Claro Magistrates’ Court today, 12th August, 2021. Mohammed was granted four months in which to pay the fine. On Wednesday 11th August, officers of the Rio Claro Task Force, and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) were on road check exercise duty in the Rio Claro district.
During the exercise, searches were conducted at houses in the Ecclesville area. In the course of the searches, one New England 12-gauge shotgun and seven rounds of 12 gauge cartridges were found in the home of Mohammed. He was arrested and subsequently charged. The exercise was coordinated by Snr. Supt Joseph Chandool, Supt Khan and Ag Asp. Jankee and supervised by Insp Ragbir, Ag Insp Ramlakhan, Ag Sgt Maharaj and Ag Cpl Denoon.
