A labourer, who works at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital, narrowly escaped injury on Saturday night after an armed man opened fire on him as he was deejaying.
Police said the 32-year-old man of Petit Valley, was reportedly setting up music equipment inside the Roots Grocery which is located at Roots Lane, Petit Valley, around 11.15 pm on April 26, when the masked assailant walked in and fired a single shot in his direction.
The victim ran towards a security gate to the back of the grocery, following which the gunman walked out and walked away via a nearby track.
One 9 mm spent shell with TTPS markings was recovered at the scene.
