Prime Min­is­ter Dr. Kei­th Row­ley will trav­el to Bar­ba­dos to­day to at­tend the Forty-Eighth (48th) Reg­u­lar Meet­ing of the Con­fer­ence of Heads of Gov­ern­ment of the Caribbean Com­mu­ni­ty (CARI­COM). 

It will be his last CARI­COM meet­ing as Prime Min­is­ter. When Prime Min­is­ter Row­ley an­nounced his im­pend­ing re­tire­ment back in De­cem­ber he said he want­ed to at­tend the meet­ing to hand over and com­plete mat­ters in­volv­ing sev­er­al Cari­com sub-com­mit­tees, which he chairs in­clud­ing se­cu­ri­ty and WI Crick­et.

Bar­ba­dos’ Prime Min­is­ter, Mia Mot­t­ley, will chair the meet­ing.

Row­ley will be ac­com­pa­nied by For­eign and CARI­COM Af­fairs Min­is­ter Amery Browne. Ac­cord­ing to the OPM, dis­cus­sions will cov­er key re­gion­al is­sues, in­clud­ing the CARI­COM Sin­gle Mar­ket and Econ­o­my, Food and Nu­tri­tion Se­cu­ri­ty, Cli­mate Change and Fi­nance, the on­go­ing cri­sis in Haiti, Se­cu­ri­ty Is­sues, Dig­i­tal Re­silience, and Ex­ter­nal Re­la­tions. Mar­itime and Air Trans­port, as well as Repa­ra­tions, will al­so be on the agen­da.

En­er­gy Min­is­ter and Prime Min­is­ter in-wait­ing Stu­art Young will serve as Act­ing Prime Min­is­ter un­til Row­ley re­turns.
