Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley remains in isolation, in keeping with the current COVID-19 protocols, and is being monitored by his physicians, as he rides out a second infection with COVID-19.
The PM tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday morning, a short release from the Office of the Prime Minister confirmed.
“The Prime Minister, who is fully-vaccinated and received two boosters, is experiencing very mild symptoms,” the PM’s Office said.
However, PM Rowley, who is an avid sportsman, has been weathering his current COVID-19 storm by watching the Commonwealth Games, and hopefully, the excellent performance of cyclist Nicholas Paul helped boost his spirits.

“A heart felt congratulations to Kwesi Browne for making the finals as well,” the PM said.
Dr Rowley cancelled all his engagements over this weekend and for the duration of his period in isolation. He was to have hosted Emancipation Celebrations at the Diplomatic Centre yesterday (Friday 29 July 2022) but could not attend because of his current health situation.
Instead, the Emancipation function was hosted by members of the Cabinet.
