PNM Women’s League celebrates 'historic leadership appointments'

The Peo­ple’s Na­tion­al Move­ment (PNM) Women’s League is cel­e­brates a his­toric mo­ment in our na­tion’s gov­er­nance as Stu­art Young has been sworn in as the new Prime Min­is­ter and  Camille Robin­son-Reg­is as the new­ly ap­point­ed At­tor­ney Gen­er­al. 

It said, "These mo­men­tous ap­point­ments reaf­firm the par­ty’s com­mit­ment to strong, pro­gres­sive, and peo­ple-cen­tered lead­er­ship."

The Women's League said Stu­art Young’s ap­point­ment as Prime Min­is­ter ush­ers in a new era of gov­er­nance that is de­fined by trans­paren­cy, in­tegri­ty, and a deep com­mit­ment to na­tion­al uni­ty.

"His un­wa­ver­ing ded­i­ca­tion to the peo­ple of Trinidad and To­ba­go, along with his proven track record as En­er­gy Min­is­ter and Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment for Port-of-Spain North, po­si­tions him as the ide­al leader to guide the na­tion for­ward."

In re­sponse to his ap­point­ment, the PNM Women’s League ex­pressed full con­fi­dence in his lead­er­ship, stat­ing, “His in­no­v­a­tive vi­sion and stead­fast de­ter­mi­na­tion promise to guide our na­tion to­ward en­hanced progress, uni­ty, and pros­per­i­ty. We are con­fi­dent that un­der his lead­er­ship, Trinidad and To­ba­go will con­tin­ue to thrive with strength and sta­bil­i­ty.”

The League al­so took the op­por­tu­ni­ty to ex­tend their grat­i­tude to for­mer Prime Min­is­ter Dr Kei­th Christo­pher Row­ley for his years of ded­i­cat­ed ser­vice to the na­tion. “His vi­sion­ary lead­er­ship, stead­fast ded­i­ca­tion, and un­wa­ver­ing com­mit­ment to Trinidad and To­ba­go have played a piv­otal role in shap­ing our coun­try’s progress and nur­tur­ing the spir­it of uni­ty,” the League stat­ed.

The ap­point­ment of  Robin­son-Reg­is as At­tor­ney Gen­er­al was al­so met with great pride and cel­e­bra­tion by the PNM Women’s League. 

"As a long-stand­ing ad­vo­cate for jus­tice and le­gal re­form, Robin­son-Reg­is has been a pow­er­ful force for change, en­sur­ing that every cit­i­zen has ac­cess to jus­tice and fair­ness. Her ap­point­ment marks a sig­nif­i­cant mile­stone for women in lead­er­ship, un­der­scor­ing the con­tin­ued progress of fe­male rep­re­sen­ta­tion in Trinidad and To­ba­go’s high­est of­fices."

The PNM Women’s League ex­pressed its ad­mi­ra­tion for her ac­com­plish­ments, stat­ing, “Her ex­cep­tion­al le­gal ex­per­tise, re­lent­less pur­suit of jus­tice, and un­wa­ver­ing com­mit­ment to fair­ness make her an out­stand­ing choice for this role. Her ap­point­ment is a tes­ta­ment to the strength, ca­pa­bil­i­ty, and con­tri­bu­tions of women in shap­ing the fu­ture of our na­tion.”

As Trinidad and To­ba­go moves in­to this new chap­ter, the PNM Women’s League said it re­mained stead­fast in its sup­port for both lead­ers and their vi­sion for a stronger, more uni­fied, and more pros­per­ous na­tion. “We look for­ward to the con­tin­ued progress of our great coun­try un­der their lead­er­ship and pledge our un­wa­ver­ing sup­port in cham­pi­oning the caus­es that up­lift our women, our fam­i­lies, and our com­mu­ni­ties,” the League af­firmed.
