Investigations are continuing into the alleged abduction and sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl on Thursday.
The teenager was reportedly grabbed by an unknown man at around 6.45 pm while walking to a neighbourhood shop located at Waterhole, Cocorite.
It is alleged that as she took a shortcut behind the building, a man of African descent, dressed in a black jersey and black three-quarter jeans pants, grabbed her and pushed her into the rear passenger seat of a black car that was waiting nearby.
Reports state that a second man of African descent, with a plaited hairstyle, wearing a white vest and white long pants, held her head down as they drove off in an unknown direction.
The driver reportedly took the vehicle to an abandoned property in an area unfamiliar to the victim.
The teen was then dragged into a house where she was sexually assaulted. She was later taken back to the car and dropped off at the Cocorite walkover with a warning: “You better not tell nobody about this.”
The girl immediately informed her father of what had occurred and was taken to the St James Police Station, where a report was made.
The victim was subsequently taken to the St James Infirmary, where she was medically examined by the District Medical Officer.
