Police are investigating the theft of valuables from the home of slain Sangre Grande businessman Danny Guerra, just days after his murder on March 13.
Authorities said Guerra’s relatives had secured the Ella Vista Gardens, North Oropouche Road property on the afternoon of March 17.
On March 22, the house caretaker alerted them that a window on the eastern side of the property had been opened and the burglar-proofing cut.
Upon visiting the home, relatives discovered that the living room and all four bedrooms had been ransacked. Among the items reported stolen were $4,000 in local currency, US$300, and various pieces of jewellery belonging to Guerra.
Police attempted to review security camera footage from the property, but noted that no recordings appeared to be available.
