Homi­cide in­ves­ti­ga­tors say a mo­tive is yet to be es­tab­lished in­to the killing of Las Lo­mas busi­ness­man, own­er of HP­KCO Ltd Trans­port Ser­vices, Ham­mat George, 58.

Two of his work­ers were wound­ed dur­ing the at­tack which oc­curred at his home on Tues­day.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, around 2:30 pm George was in the com­pa­ny of two of his em­ploy­ees re­pair­ing a fork­lift at the front of his home at Jankie Trace, Las Lo­mas when a vol­ley of gun­shots was heard. Both work­ers, who were shot and wound­ed at­tempt­ed to run but col­lapsed.

George’s body was found on the ground by his wife, who ran out of the house af­ter hear­ing the gun­fire.

One of the work­ers was shot in the groin, while the oth­er was shot in the up­per left thigh.

Po­lice said both in­jured men were tak­en for med­ical at­ten­tion at the Ari­ma Dis­trict Health Fa­cil­i­ty and then trans­ferred to the Mount Hope Hos­pi­tal.

Of­fi­cers found 12 spent 9mm cal­i­bre shells at the scene.

Po­lice said George owned the com­pa­ny, which was lo­cat­ed at his home, which is in­volved in the re­fur­bish­ing of wood­en pal­lets, sales and trans­port.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors said one of his work­ers has been em­ployed with George for the past two days and the oth­er, for the past four months.

Mean­while, rel­a­tives de­scribed George as a hum­ble and hard­work­ing in­di­vid­ual and added his mur­der was the “the most shock­ing and dev­as­tat­ing news” they could have ever re­ceived.
