The public’s assistance continues to be sought to identify the body of a man found in the St Joseph River last Friday.
Senior police officials said yesterday that no one had come forward to assist authorities in identifying the victim.
The decomposing corpse was spotted around noon by an employee of Nestlé Trinidad Ltd. Police were alerted and the body was retrieved several hours later.
No cause of death has yet been determined.
Officials said no identifiable tattoos or birthmarks were found that could assist in identifying the victim, and officers were unable to determine how long the man had been in the water.
Investigations are continuing to determine whether the victim matches the profile of anyone reported missing.
