Several people were arrested yesterday as angry patrons attempted to storm the FOC Fete in Chaguaramas, while others inside the venue began throwing bottles at people on stage.
The breakfast party, held at O2 Park, was shut down two hours ahead of its scheduled 9 am closing time.
The event was set to begin at 3 am and end at 9 am, but police and fire officials decided to close the gates after an estimated 6,500 patrons showed up.
Senior officials said a maximum of 4,000 people were supposed to be allowed into the venue. However, when scores of patrons began arriving and demanding entry, officials were left with little choice but to shut down the event in the interest of safety.
Among the offences for which people were arrested were obscene language and disorderly conduct
