Sev­er­al peo­ple were ar­rest­ed yes­ter­day as an­gry pa­trons at­tempt­ed to storm the FOC Fete in Ch­aguara­mas, while oth­ers in­side the venue be­gan throw­ing bot­tles at peo­ple on stage.

The break­fast par­ty, held at O2 Park, was shut down two hours ahead of its sched­uled 9 am clos­ing time.

The event was set to be­gin at 3 am and end at 9 am, but po­lice and fire of­fi­cials de­cid­ed to close the gates af­ter an es­ti­mat­ed 6,500 pa­trons showed up.

Se­nior of­fi­cials said a max­i­mum of 4,000 peo­ple were sup­posed to be al­lowed in­to the venue. How­ev­er, when scores of pa­trons be­gan ar­riv­ing and de­mand­ing en­try, of­fi­cials were left with lit­tle choice but to shut down the event in the in­ter­est of safe­ty.
