One man is dead, and five oth­ers wound­ed in a late-night dri­ve-by shoot­ing on Dun­can Street, Port of Spain.

Po­lice re­port­ed that the de­ceased has been iden­ti­fied as 28-year-old Chris­t­ian Sansavoir, of Dun­can Street.

The in­jured are An­ton "Sleepy" Ol­liveire, who was shot in the left arm; Math­ias Kingsale, who was shot in the right shoul­der; Shane Dun­can, who was shot in the neck, left hand, right hand and right leg; Robert In­gle­bert, who was shot in low­er back; and Ja­heim Brown, who was shot in the neck, back and right side of the face.

Po­lice said a white Nis­san Xtrail was in­volved in the shoot­ing.  The ve­hi­cle was lat­er found aban­doned at St Paul Street.

The fa­tal shoot­ing comes one day af­ter a St Paul Street man was mur­dered in an­oth­er dri­ve-by shoot­ing.

Po­lice said res­i­dents re­port­ed see­ing a black BMW on St Paul Street near Rod­ney Street around 8 am on Fri­day.

Two gun­men got out of the car and shot sev­er­al peo­ple, be­fore get­ting back in and dri­ving off.

One of the per­sons shot at—iden­ti­fied as Ja­son Alexan­der—died at the scene.

An­oth­er man was shot in his stom­ach and the oth­er was shot in his leg.

They were tak­en to hos­pi­tal by passers­by.

Po­lice said the es­ca­lat­ed gang war be­tween ri­val gangs Six and Sev­en is re­spon­si­ble for the cur­rent blood­shed in the cap­i­tal.
