PriceS­mart has an­nounced it will in­tro­duce a ser­vice fee on on­line or­ders un­der $325, start­ing in Oc­to­ber.

In an email to cus­tomers, the com­pa­ny said a fee of $33.75 will be ap­plied to pur­chas­es be­low the thresh­old on its web­site and mo­bile app.

Or­ders over $325 will not be af­fect­ed.

PriceS­mart said the change would help sup­port its on­line op­er­a­tions and main­tain prod­uct and ser­vice qual­i­ty.

“This ser­vice fee helps us sus­tain­ably sup­port every on­line or­der while en­sur­ing we can con­tin­ue of­fer­ing great prod­ucts, de­liv­ery ser­vice op­tions, and re­spon­sive sup­port,” the com­pa­ny wrote.

The com­pa­ny said all fees will be itemised at check­out and that it re­mains com­mit­ted to trans­paren­cy and val­ue.
