A 34-year-old man has ap­peared be­fore a Mas­ter of the High Court, charged with the No­vem­ber 2023 mur­der of Shaquille Hen­ry.

Theo Serette, 34, of Princes Town, was charged with the of­fence when he ap­peared be­fore Mas­ter Shah in the San Fer­nan­do High Court, on Feb­ru­ary 27.

Hen­ry, aka ‘Darko’, 29, al­so of Princes Town, was at a club in the dis­trict on No­vem­ber 2nd, 2023, when he al­leged­ly got in­to an al­ter­ca­tion with a man. Dur­ing the in­ci­dent, he was al­leged­ly stabbed sev­er­al times. The as­sailant then fled the scene.

The vic­tim was tak­en to the Princes Town Health Fa­cil­i­ty, where he suc­cumbed to his in­juries.

Ex­ten­sive en­quiries were con­duct­ed by in­ves­ti­ga­tors of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions (HBI), Re­gion Three, along­side ex­ter­nal law en­force­ment agen­cies which re­sult­ed in the ar­rest of a male sus­pect in the Ma­yaro dis­trict on Feb­ru­ary 22nd, 2024.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions were su­per­vised by Supt. Dhilpaul, ASP Per­sad, In­sp. John and Sgt. Bridge­mo­han, all of HBI Re­gion Three.

Serette was charged by PC Nel­son, al­so of HBI Re­gion Three, on Feb­ru­ary 26, fol­low­ing ad­vice re­ceived from Deputy Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions, Joan Hon­ore-Paul on that same date.
