A 34-year-old man has appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with the November 2023 murder of Shaquille Henry.
Theo Serette, 34, of Princes Town, was charged with the offence when he appeared before Master Shah in the San Fernando High Court, on February 27.
Henry, aka ‘Darko’, 29, also of Princes Town, was at a club in the district on November 2nd, 2023, when he allegedly got into an altercation with a man. During the incident, he was allegedly stabbed several times. The assailant then fled the scene.
The victim was taken to the Princes Town Health Facility, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Extensive enquiries were conducted by investigators of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Three, alongside external law enforcement agencies which resulted in the arrest of a male suspect in the Mayaro district on February 22nd, 2024.
Investigations were supervised by Supt. Dhilpaul, ASP Persad, Insp. John and Sgt. Bridgemohan, all of HBI Region Three.
Serette was charged by PC Nelson, also of HBI Region Three, on February 26, following advice received from Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Joan Honore-Paul on that same date.
