Princes Town man charged with pensioner’s murder

A Princes Town man is ex­pect­ed to ap­pear vir­tu­al­ly be­fore a San Fer­nan­do Mag­is­trate on Ju­ly 19th charged with the mur­der of pen­sion­er Lennard Mo­hammed.

Joshua Dha­lai, 25, a soft­ware en­gi­neer of Rail­way Road, was charged with the of­fence fol­low­ing ad­vice from Deputy Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions (DPP), Joan Hon­orePaul, on Ju­ly 16th. Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, Mo­hammed, 82, of the same ad­dress, was in­volved in an al­ter­ca­tion with a male rel­a­tive on Ju­ly 12th dur­ing which he was stabbed. He died at the scene.

The rel­a­tive was ar­rest­ed by of­fi­cers of the South­ern Di­vi­sion on that same date. In­ves­ti­ga­tions were su­per­vised by Sgt Jones and Cpl Bridge­mo­han, of Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions (HBI), Re­gion 3. Dha­lai was charged with the of­fence on Fri­day 16th Ju­ly, 2021 by PC Marsh al­so of HBI Re­gion 3
