Fifty-two-year-old Michael Richard­son who plead­ed guilty to pos­ses­sion of firearm and am­mu­ni­tion was fined $20,000 when he ap­peared be­fore Se­nior Mag­is­trate In­di­ra Misir-Go­sine of the Princes Town Mag­is­trates’ Court to­day.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, around 9.15 pm, mem­bers of the Mara­bel­la Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tion De­part­ment ex­e­cut­ed a search war­rant at a house in Princes Town.

Dur­ing the search which was done in the pres­ence of the sus­pect, of­fi­cers found one black and sil­ver firearm fit­ted with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing five rounds of nine-mil­lime­tre am­mu­ni­tion in the toi­let tank of the bath­room. The man was sub­se­quent­ly ar­rest­ed and tak­en to the Mara­bel­la Po­lice Sta­tion where he was charged by PC Ram­jat­tan on No­vem­ber 22nd, for the of­fences.
