The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism, and her family, were robbed by four suspects during a home invasion on Thursday.
The 52-year-old woman arrived at their Cascade home around 7.15 pm on November 20 and pulled into the driveway when a 73-year-old male relative and a 12-year-old child emerged from the house to help with offloading groceries.
Reports indicate the three were accosted by four masked men, two of whom were armed with a knife and a gun, respectively.
The suspects ordered the victims into the house while the elderly man was struck with the gun.
The suspects took the wallets of two of the victims, which included bank cards, identification cards, cell phones and a quantity of cash, along with a Nintendo Switch, a 75-inch JVC television, as well as keys to the victim’s white Subaru Crosstrek and the house.
Workable fingerprints were collected at the scene.
Meanwhile, Attorney General John Jeremie told the Parliament yesterday that the Home Invasion Bill would be debated in the House of Representatives next Wednesday, November 26.
