Former Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts Randall Mitchell has conceded defeat in La Brea.
In a statement posted on social media addressed to constituents, Mitchell wrote, “Whilst this is not the result we had hoped for, I accept it with humility and grace. The people have spoken, and I respect their voice.”
He reflected on his campaign as “about standing with you, the people of La Brea, and earning your trust and sharing a vision of possibility for our community.”
Mitchell thanked his supporters, saying, “To those who believed in me, who gave your support, your time, and your encouragement, I will forever be grateful. Your faith has meant more than words can truly express.”
He also acknowledged his party colleagues, adding, “We remain committed to building a stronger, more resilient and prosperous Trinidad and Tobago.”
Addressing his family, he wrote, “Thank you for the sacrifices, the quiet strength you gave me when I needed it most.”
Concluding his message, Mitchell stated, “I will always be here, doing my part to uplift our people and our communities, to listen, and to work toward a brighter future. The work continues.”
