Entertainer Raymond Ramnarine is warning the public that sharing an online video that is defamatory to him could expose them to litigation. In a legal letter posted on social media addressed to members of the public, Ramnarine's attorney Kevin Ratiram stated that he acts on behalf of Ramnarine, leader of the music band Dil E Nadan.

The letter stated, "It has come to my client’s attention that there is, circulating on social media, a video whereby a certain individual directs comments at another (not my client). In the said video, certain suggestions and insinuations are made in respect of my client and the person to whom the video was directed. These suggestions and insinuations are completely false and without any basis whatsoever, and are therefore highly defamatory of my client."

Ratiram said the video has caused Ramnarine much emotional distress, and action shall be taken against the maker of the video.

He continued, "Members of the public are put on notice that since the said video is defamatory in nature, they are requested to

refrain from sharing and/or disseminating same in any form or manner whatsoever."

He said this includes the sharing/dissemination of same via WhatsApp, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), or any other social media platforms, as well as via email. Otherwise, Ratiram said they could face legal action. "Please be informed that anyone who shares or disseminates a defamatory video can himself be liable for defamation, and be made to pay damages (monetary compensation) for same."
