Registration for the National Calypso Monarch and Extempo Monarch competitions begin at 9.AM on on February 3rd and ends on February 10th at 3.PM. According to a press release from TUCO, the decision was taken following a meeting of the General Council.
The press release also stated that all competitors must be fully vaccinated to enter all competitions as guided by the public health regulations.

On Tuesday 1st February, 2022, the General Council of the Trinbago Unified Calypsonians’ Organisation (TUCO) met and the following decisions were taken:
Registration for the National Calypso Monarch and Extempo Monarch competitions begin on Thursday 3rd February 2022 at 9.AM and ends on Thursday 10th February 2022 at 3.PM.
The Preliminaries for the National Calypso Monarch will be held on the 11th and 12th February, 2022, 9.AM at TUCO Head Office at #45C Jermingham Avenue, Port of Spain and on the 13th February 2022, 9.AM, Tobago (Venue to be announced).
The Preliminary round for the Extempo Monarch will be held on the 14th February, 2022 at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain at 7.PM
Registration fees for all Competitions are One Hundred dollars ($100.00) for Members and Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for Non-Members.
Membership yearly subscription remains at One Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($150.00) for 2022.
Competitors MUST be fully vaccinated to enter all competitions as guided by the public health regulations published by the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
