The rel­a­tive of a woman who was shot and killed at a Cunu­pia dou­bles stand ear­ly on Sat­ur­day morn­ing has been de­tained as part of on­go­ing en­quiries in­to her death.

Po­lice con­firmed that Su­san Mad­ra­no-St Louis and rel­a­tives vis­it­ed Sauce Dou­bles on the South­ern Main Road at around 8.25 am when they got in­to an ar­gu­ment with peo­ple in a Nis­san Ti­i­da over a park­ing spot.

One of St Louis’ rel­a­tives told po­lice that the per­sons in the Ti­i­da at­tacked them with knives, wound­ing them.

The rel­a­tive – who is a li­censed firearm hold­er – pulled out his pis­tol and fired at the at­tack­ers, but shot St Louis by ac­ci­dent, as the at­tack­ers es­caped.

Cunu­pia Po­lice vis­it­ed the scene and ar­rest­ed the man.

Of­fi­cers al­so seized the pis­tol and Firearms User’s Li­cense (FUL) and was tak­en to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex.

Re­gion III Homi­cide de­tec­tives vis­it­ed the scene as Cen­tral Di­vi­sion Po­lice searched the area and near­by com­mu­ni­ties for the at­tack­ers
