Two men were arrested, and a firearm, ammunition, and a quantity of narcotics were seized during a police operation in the North Central Division on February 14, 2025.
In a statement the TTPS said the operation, conducted between 10:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., involved officers from the Tunapuna Criminal Investigations Department, North Central Task Force East and West, and Tunapuna Court staff.
During the exercise, officers searched a 37-year-old man at Pool 1, Caura Royal Road.
A silver and black 9mm pistol with five rounds of 9mm ammunition was reportedly found in his possession, leading to his arrest.
A second suspect, a 33-year-old man, was also searched and found allegedly in possession of:
• 7.83 grams of Ecstasy
• 7.71 grams of Cocaine
• 9 packets of Xanax (8.08 grams total)
• 6.59 grams of Molly
• An additional 4.54 grams of Cocaine
Both men were taken into custody. Further searches at their residences reportedly uncovered additional illegal substances, including:
• 50.9 grams of Ecstasy
• 49.4 grams of Hashish
• 49.7 grams of Molly
• 22.6 grams of Xanax
• A quantity of cash and packaging materials.
The exercise was led by Senior Superintendent Michael Pierre and supervised by Superintendent Gift, ASP John, Inspector Pierre, Sgt Peters, and Cpl Grant.
