A salesman employed with AS Brydens & Sons Limited was robbed of $106,000 worth of snacks, chewing gum and batteries as he conducted a transaction in Diego Martin.

Police said the 35-year-old reportedly parked the truck at Kelly’s Supermarket, Diego Martin Main Road, Diego Martin, around 9.10 am on Wednesday and entered the grocery to conduct sales.

A short while later, he was alerted by a customer that several people were seen off-loading the truck.

As the driver and his assistant rushed out to the carpark, they found the truck open and a quantity of items missing.

The stolen items included almost 200 cases of various Cadbury chocolates, two cases of Oreo Mega Stuff cookies, boxes of Dentine and Trident chewing gums and several cases of Energizer batteries.

Police officers requested CCTV footage in the surrounding areas as they investigated the theft.
