Four months after he survived a shooting in which his female companion was killed, a 30-year-old man was executed in his car in San Fernando yesterday.
Renaco Pierre, of Rushworth Street, San Fernando, was chased by the occupants of a car who eventually shot him several times shortly after 2 pm.
Initial reports stated that he was driving a black Toyota Aqua along Dottin Street when the driver of another vehicle began following him and the occupants of that car opened fire. He eventually crashed at the corner of Fonrose and June Streets.
There were more than a dozen gunshots on the driver’s side window. Police retrieved 32 spent shells at the scene.
Last September, Pierre was driving along Lisas Boulevard, Point Lisas, with his common-law wife Denise Mendoza and his eight-year-old son when several shots were fired at the vehicle. Mendoza died while Pierre and his son were wounded.
Police said there was also a previous attempt on his life in January 2022, when he was shot in his yard. Phillip was originally from Pleasantville.
Residents were unable to enter or leave their homes while the police were processing the scene. One resident complained about the high murder rate.
“Is too much, too much, life don’t mean anything anymore,” he complained.
Relatives were at the scene of his murder but they declined to speak with the media.
Investigators were still working on a motive last evening but police claimed Pierre was involved in illegal activities.
