An incident that reportedly occurred 33 years ago at St Mary’s College resurfaced on social media on Monday just as Stuart Young was appointed prime minister.

In a Facebook post making the rounds under the name Nadia Khan, the poster claims that her brother, Imran Khan, who attended St Mary’s College, was involved in a physical altercation on the school compound where he reportedly hit fellow student Stuart Young with a baton.

The post, however, went on to claim that the act of aggression was in retaliation for something Young would have reportedly done.

There was also a claim that Khan was expelled and not allowed to write the CXC examinations.

Guardian Media reached out to Young about the alleged incident, which was detailed in several articles carried in the now defunct Trinidad Mirror newspaper. The first article appeared in the first quarter of 1992.

However, there was no response up to publication time.
