Some 5,248 payments have been issued for the School Supplies and Book Grant Programme for the upcoming academic year, and the Ministry of Education says the remaining payments should be completion by September 5, 2025.
In a statement, the Ministry reports some 14,752 payments remain outstanding.
The Ministry also reminded the public that the Grant is being provided to specific, priority categories of applicants, namely individuals receiving public assistance, unemployed persons, persons with disabilities, and low-income households.
The Ministry says notifications concerning the School Supplies and Book Grant will be sent directly via email, and beneficiaries are encouraged to monitor their email accounts regularly for payment confirmations.
“Payments continue to be forwarded to the bank account number provided by persons who have successfully qualified for the grant,” the Ministry explained.
Beneficiaries are reminded that a valid form of identification—National Identification Card, Driver’s Permit, or Passport—is required for collection of the Grant. In addition, cheques can be cashed at any District Revenue Office:
