The family of a schoolboy who was shot dead during a home invasion in Marabella is now living in fear as police investigate the killing. Krishan Khanai was gunned down at his family’s Tramline Road home late Thursday night. Two relatives, Krishna Khanai and Leela Pariag, were also shot and wounded during the attack.
A relative, who requested anonymity out of fear for the family’s safety, declined to discuss the incident when contacted by Guardian Media. “We don’t want to speak about it,” the relative said before ending the conversation. Police believe robbery was the motive for the deadly attack.
According to investigators, officers responded to reports of loud explosions around 11.41 pm and arrived at a wooden house along Tramline Road, where they found the schoolboy lying in a pool of blood with gunshot wounds. The two other occupants were also discovered suffering from gunshot injuries and were taken to the San Fernando General Hospital for treatment.
Crime Scene Investigators processed the scene and recovered three spent 9mm shell casings with the markings “Luger” and “11”.
Investigators believe robbery is the motive.
Police investigations are continuing.
