A 39-year-old security officer was stabbed to death during an altercation in Princes Town on Sunday afternoon, after confronting a woman and the man she was with, police said.
Stephen Jack, of Chin Chin, Cunupia, died while undergoing emergency treatment at the Princes Town Health Facility.
Inquiries revealed that around 3.20 pm, Jack arrived at Charlotte Street in a silver Nissan AD wagon, which he parked along the roadway.
He asked a resident about a woman who lived in the area. While speaking with the resident, Jack saw the woman and a man walking out of Charlotte Street.
Jack approached the pair and an argument ensued. The man told Jack to leave, but the confrontation escalated into a fight. During the fight, Jack was stabbed in the abdomen, chest, thigh and back.
The man and woman then walked away while Jack was taken to the health facility, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect was later arrested by officers of the Princes Town Police Station. Police allegedly found a wet grey and black flick knife in his right front pocket.
Officers of the Homicide Region Three are continuing investigations, spearheaded by acting Snr Supt Williams and acting ASP Thomas.
