Senator Wade Mark sworn in as Acting President

Pres­i­dent of the Sen­ate Wade Mark was to­day sworn in as Act­ing Pres­i­dent of the Re­pub­lic of Trinidad and To­ba­go.

The swear­ing in by Chief Jus­tice Ivor Archie took place at the Of­fice of the Pres­i­dent, Cir­cu­lar Road, St. Ann’s.

Mark will stand in for Pres­i­dent Chris­tine Kan­ga­loo who left the ju­ris­dic­tion ear­li­er to­day.

A re­lease from the Of­fice of the Pres­i­dent did not say how long Kan­ga­loo will be away, but dis­closed that be­fore de­part­ing the coun­try, she met with Mark on Tues­day at The Pres­i­dent’s House.
