Sev­en peo­ple were ar­rest­ed and a stolen ve­hi­cle re­cov­ered dur­ing an an­ti-crime op­er­a­tion across the South­ern Di­vi­sion on Sat­ur­day.

Four peo­ple were ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with a re­port­ed lar­ce­ny at a su­per­mar­ket in Princes Town.

Po­lice in­ter­cept­ed a Nis­san Qashqai on the Gol­con­da Con­nec­tor Road, Re­trench Vil­lage, around 2.15 pm and found hab­er­dash­ery and hy­giene prod­ucts be­lieved to be linked to the lar­ce­ny.

In a sep­a­rate in­ci­dent, po­lice re­cov­ered a white Nis­san AD Wag­on which had been re­port­ed stolen in Cou­va on Fri­day.

The ve­hi­cle was tracked by GPS to a prop­er­ty along Tarou­ba Road, Mara­bel­la, where it was found with a dif­fer­ent reg­is­tra­tion num­ber. A 52-year-old man was ar­rest­ed.

A 22-year-old Mara­bel­la man was al­so ar­rest­ed for pos­ses­sion of co­caine, while a Princes Town woman was de­tained for al­leged­ly as­sault­ing a po­lice of­fi­cer, us­ing ob­scene lan­guage and re­sist­ing ar­rest.
