Police arrested seven people and seized three guns, along with ammunition and illegal drugs, during operations in several areas yesterday.
In the Eastern Division, officers from the Sangre Grande Police Station carried out an exercise between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday. They arrested a 40-year-old man after finding a homemade shotgun and two 12-gauge cartridges in his vehicle.
In the Southern Division, police conducted an exercise between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the La Romaine area. They arrested five suspects for various offences, including possession of cannabis and cocaine. Officers also searched Manjack Street in Vistabella, where they found a revolver wrapped in a grey plastic bag.
In Port-of-Spain, officers searched the Sea Lots area and found a firearm and 20 rounds of ammunition hidden in a wooden structure off Production Avenue.
In a separate operation in the same division, police arrested a 44-year-old woman after finding cocaine, a scale, and a quantity of cash.
Investigations are continuing.
