Seven held, three firearms, ammunition and narcotics seized

Po­lice ar­rest­ed sev­en peo­ple and seized three guns, along with am­mu­ni­tion and il­le­gal drugs, dur­ing op­er­a­tions in sev­er­al ar­eas yes­ter­day.

In the East­ern Di­vi­sion, of­fi­cers from the San­gre Grande Po­lice Sta­tion car­ried out an ex­er­cise be­tween 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Sun­day. They ar­rest­ed a 40-year-old man af­ter find­ing a home­made shot­gun and two 12-gauge car­tridges in his ve­hi­cle.

In the South­ern Di­vi­sion, po­lice con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise be­tween 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the La Ro­maine area. They ar­rest­ed five sus­pects for var­i­ous of­fences, in­clud­ing pos­ses­sion of cannabis and co­caine. Of­fi­cers al­so searched Man­jack Street in Vista­bel­la, where they found a re­volver wrapped in a grey plas­tic bag.

In Port-of-Spain, of­fi­cers searched the Sea Lots area and found a firearm and 20 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion hid­den in a wood­en struc­ture off Pro­duc­tion Av­enue.

In a sep­a­rate op­er­a­tion in the same di­vi­sion, po­lice ar­rest­ed a 44-year-old woman af­ter find­ing co­caine, a scale, and a quan­ti­ty of cash.
